Families and mentors are a critical part of helping students make connections between what is learned at school and what they experience outside campus walls. We welcome and encourage parents, families, and mentors to partner with us!
The new Empowered & Equipped! site features resources to support conversations and activities at home, and in the community, with monthly lessons aligned to SBISD instruction. These lessons focus on the critical areas of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)and building awareness of various career pathways as part of the Spring Branch T-2-4 Goal.
Buffalo Creek is proud to collaborate with Lion Lane and Tiger Trail to assist The Cheesecake Factory in collecting peanut butter jars to donate to the Houston Food Bank. Read about our effort in the SBISD School Zone.
Fifth grade parent, Mrs. Lupe Barrera, pledged $500 to our PTA to go towards membership dues for parents who may not have the funds to join PTA. Mrs. Barrera, described the impact BCE had on all five of her children. She stressed how amazing our students are, and how wonderful our teachers are. More importantly, Mrs. Barrera expressed the importance of our greatness as a community. "We are a small community, but we are a strong community." If you haven't joined PTA yet, please contact Mrs. Unrath.
The BCE Advanced Movers attended the Northbrook High School football game on Friday, August 31st. SBISD began the Advanced Movers initiative in order to provide extracurricular opportunities for students at the elementary and middle school level. This initiative permits our students to attend secondary athletic events in which they can see student athletes, the band, the drill team, cheerleaders, and athletic trainers in action. Thus, providing a glimpse into what awaits them in their future endeavors.
In observance of Labor Day, school is closed Monday, September 3rd. Classes resume Tuesday, September 4th.
Our 5th grade Safety Patrols received quite the surprise this morning! Ms. Jessica secured sponsors to provide a book and/or journal for all 23 of her patrols. This little token not only started their day in a bright way, but provided a little boost of confidence for their 5th grade year as many of the girls received empowering books about strong, influential women. Many thanks to Ms. Jessica's family, friends, and former students (a few former patrols) for providing these books to our students
Happy 1st Day of School! The first day of school is full of many unknowns. We were all a little nervous this morning, but we were also excited to begin a new year! There may be glitches we have to fix, but our days will soon run smoothly. Our students inspire us to provide them the best educational experience while they are with us. We encourage you to join us as we go on this journey. We are BISON STRONG!
