Dear BCE Students and Families,
It is with great excitement that I introduce myself to you as the new Principal of Buffalo Creek Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such amazing students, a dedicated staff, and a supportive school community.
I am committed to creating experiences that promote and inspire respect, joy in learning, and excellence for students, staff, and communities, alike. I care deeply about the kids, families, and communities I serve and believe that my role as Principal is to make sure that our school provides a safe, fun, and challenging experience that will prepare students for success. Like you, I believe that every child in every circumstance can achieve at the highest levels of academic and personal excellence.
However, it may be more important for you to know that I am the mom of two young children as well. I fully understand the challenges and rewards you face every day as you work to ensure your child has the best educational experience. One of the most important aspects of my work here at BCE will be building strong relationships with students, teachers and families. I am always accessible. You’ll find me in the hallways, classrooms, outside, and wherever kids are. I welcome your input and ideas. We are indeed partners in this work.
While there is much uncertainty about what next school year will look like, please know that my priority is the health, safety, and academic progress of our students and staff. I’m looking forward to meeting each of you as we start this new and exciting year together!

I grew up in Albuquerque, NM enjoying sunrises over the Sandia Mountains and sunsets behind five dormant cinder cone volcanoes. After finishing my undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of New Mexico, I began my teaching career in Albuquerque teaching high school science. Hearing the call to move to the Lone Star State, I moved to Texas in 2009. I began my career in Spring Branch ISD at Northbrook High School and taught there for five years. In 2014 I stepped into the role of the Secondary Science Lead, which allowed me to support teachers and students across the district
In my free time I like to spend time with my husband and our pets. I have completed two half marathons and am currently training for my third. I enjoy cooking and love an afternoon curled up with a book and a cup of tea. I am fortunate to call Houston my home and to be a part of the Buffalo Creek family.
