However, it may be more important for you to know that I am the mom of two young children as well. I fully understand the challenges and rewards you face every day as you work to ensure your child has the best educational experience. One of the most important aspects of my work here at BCE will be building strong relationships with students, teachers and families. I am always accessible. You’ll find me in the hallways, classrooms, outside, and wherever kids are. I welcome your input and ideas. We are indeed partners in this work.

Assistant Principal's Message
Dear Buffalo Creek Elementary:
It is both a privilege and a pleasure to be the Assistant Principal of Buffalo Creek Elementary.
I have devoted my professional life to partnering with educators and families to transform the educational journeys of PK-12 students. I believe that all children are special, unique, and can learn at high levels. I think, too, that parents want their children to succeed and are their strongest advocates. My goal at BCE is to collaborate with you teachers, parents, and students so that every child can achieve academic excellence.
I started serving in education in 2006 as a first-grade bilingual teacher. While in the classroom, my students inspired me to further my studies in bilingual education to provide engaging, rigorous, and relevant experiences to all children. I have served PK-12 students in various capacities in both, bilingual and monolingual settings.
On a personal note, I delight myself in animals, nature, and traveling. I enjoy birdwatching, hiking, or caring for plants in our garden. I like visiting new places and learning about their history. As a lifelong learner, I like attending educational conferences, reading inspirational and scholarly books, and practicing mindfulness. I am the mother of a five-year-old boy who never stops to amaze me.
I look forward to a year full of celebrations, accomplishments, and happy memories for our students, families, and staff. Have a wonderful year at Buffalo Creek!
Laura Ramos
